Jazz valley
Emilia Romagna embraces nearly all kind of musical genres: pop, rock, jazz, classical, ballroom dance, you name it. A history that goes a long way back, and has given birth to important songwriters, composers, rockers, performers, tenors, conductors.
Emilia-Romagna has been the cradle of jazz in Italy. Bologna, now renowned Creative City of Music by UNESCO, was the first city to host a jazz festival on an International scale, a tradition that has lasted from the 1950s to the present day. Alongside likewise historic Ravenna Jazz festival, Jazz Club Ferrara's steady programme, and the territorial coverage that Crossroads has achieved in over twenty years of activity, it can be rightly said that Emilia-Romagna is the region of jazz.
Creating a brand linked to Jazz culture in the region, therefore, appears as an opportunity for growth and promotion, both for original Emilia-Romagna productions and the enhancement of our history.
